The challenge: How do we survive in the ever-changing world?

Someone once said that change is the only permanent thing in the world. And in some ways, it just goes on to show the power of change including how destructive or constructive it can be in our lives.

The 4 challenges faced by Yan Keng Benevolent Association

  1. Yan Keng subsequently fell into economic difficulties due to Japanese rule. After Deng Heyi took the post of manager in 1948, he opened the Yan Keng Club Member Lottery, and then set up the Yan Keng Charity Department to promote charity and help social welfare.

  2. The youth is not interested in Cantonese opera, the average age of the members is over 50 years old.

  3. The Sultan Street MRT project initiated by the government has affected the buildings in this area. Yan Keng is one of the affected units. However, under the opposition of the owners, the MRT company promised that the MRT project will not requisition land or demolish buildings.

  4. Someone once offered to buy about 3,000 square feet of theater at a high price of RM3.5 million 20 years ago but was rejected. He claimed that the theater is a charity with decades of history and one of the local cultural values. It must not destroy the efforts of the predecessors.

  • TEA HOUSE THEATRE EXPERIENCE IS SPECIALLY DESIGNED TO INTRODUCE NEW AUDIENCES TO CANTONESE OPERA — THE LOCAL FORM OF CHINESE OPERA OR XIQU.

Tsing Yi (Dan) is a kind of Chinese opera, which is mostly called Tsing Yi in the north, and Zheng Dan in the south. Named because of the role played by often wearing cyan pleats. The characters played are generally dignified, serious, and decent. Most of them are good wives

and mothers, or chastity women and the like. The performance is characterized by singing skills, with smaller movements.

The image of Tsing Yi is dignified and courteous. The tea house is the second one after entering this building to bring visitors a visual sense and the first activity should bring visitors a dormitory and a simple visual sense.

The stage of the tea house does not have a lot of equipment requirements, and the curtain can even be discarded. The bamboo forest replaces the old curtains and brings fresh visual senses to visitors. With the change of climate, the “curtains” from nature will never tire of them.

CULTURAL STREET- 丑 Chou

The Chou is a procedural role business in Chinese dramas, generally playing the more comical role of gagging. Wen Chou focuses on workmanship, while Wu Chou focuses on martial arts. The difference between the three tiles in the clear angle is not obvious.

role in the play. The character of this character is consistent with the characteristics of Cultural Street, bringing joy to people but at the same time inheriting a culture.

This area is an open area. In order to take advantage of the geographical location, the open area will make this building less crowded and cumbersome. Traveling tourists can also be
